Like our Patriot ancestors, members of the Republic Chapter, Oregon Society, Sons of the American Revolution, serve where they can to support veteran and historical institutions in the mid-Willamette Valley area.

Knight Essay Compitition
The Republic Chapter S.A.R. evaluates and awards local winners of the Knight Essay Competition sponsored by the National Society, Sons of the American Revolution.
Junior ROTC Honor Guard Competition
The Republic Chapter S.A.R. is one of the supporters of the Junior ROTC program at North Salem High School. The Chapter contributes money so the Honor Guard can attend the National Competition.
Percy Willis Scholarship
Every year, since 1999, the Republic Chapter S.A.R. honors a Junior ROTC graduate at North Salem High School with a $500.00 scholarship to a college of his/her choice.
Past Projects
Friends of Pioneer Cemetery
In September 2000, the Republic Chapter S.A.R. became a member of the Friends of Pioneer Cemetery to support their efforts in the restoration and preservation of the Pioneer Cemetery in Salem Oregon.
Restoration of Issac Moore Monument
In September, 1999, our SAR Chapter formed a work crew and with professional guidance from Friends of Pioneer Cemetery,, we thoroughly cleaned and hoisted the massive granite monument sections of Colonel Isaac Moores and his family back into place.
